Space Heating

• Our homes' heating is about to undergo the first major technological overhaul in over a century. The UK is looking to achieve net Zero by mid-century. Domestic heating is one of the main contributors to the country's climate change gas output. Gas, oil and coal have been the stalwart fuels stoking the boilers in our homes since central heating was introduced.

• The Government is using legislation and incentives to encourage the uptake of renewable technologies. Though a number of technologies have evolved, the front runner to replace our current boilers is the heat pump.

• Though heat pumps have been around for some time (refrigerators are heat pumps), the mass retrofit of our homes is at the very start of a roll-out with all the hiccups associated with new(ish) technologies.
